                   AN ORDINANCE CLOSING AND ABANDONING AN ALLEY
                   LOCATED SOUTHWEST FROM CHAMBLISS STREET,
                   NORTHWEST OF MERRIAM STREET, MORE PARTICULARLY
                   DESCRIBED HEREIN.

              	   SECTION 1.  BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
         CITY OF CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE, That there be and is hereby 
closed
         and abandoned an alley located southwest from Chambliss Street, 

         northwest of Merriam Street, more particularly described 
herein,
         and as shown on plat attached hereto and made a part hereof by
         reference:
                An unopened alleyway varying in width from some 12
                feet to some 20 feet, and beginning on the
                southwest line of Chambliss Street 169.9 feet
                northwest of the intersection of the southwest line
                of Chambliss Street with the northwest line of
                Merriam Street, said point being the northwest
                corner of lot 210, North Chattanooga Land Company's
                Subdivision of a Part of the Cowart Estate, as
                shown by plat of record in plat book 1, page 28,
                ROHC, thence southwest 231.6 feet with the
                northwest line of lots 210, 211, 212, 213, and 214,
                said North Chattanooga Land Company's Subdivision
                to a point in the northeast line of lot 13,
                Chattanooga Investment Company's Subdivision No. 1,
                as shown by plat of record in plat book 12, page
                24, ROHC, thence northwest some 12 feet with the
                northeast line of said lot 13 to a corner of lot
                12, said Chattanooga Investment Company's
                Subdivision, thence northeast 87.8 feet with the
                southeast line of said lot 12 to the northeast
                corner thereof, thence northwest some 8 feet with
                the northeast line of said lot 12 to the southeast
                corner of lot 127, Smartt Syndicate, not recorded,
                thence northeast 150 feet with the southeast line
                of said lot 127 to the southwest line of Chambliss
                Street, thence southeast some 20 feet with
                Chambliss Street to the point of beginning.  Tax
                Map No. 135C-E-5, 6, 7, 8, and 11.
               
               
              	   SECTION 2.  BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED, That this 
Ordinance
         shall take effect two weeks from and after its passage as 
provided
         by law.
